Finding an audience
These last few weeks I have been trying to find an audience for the Runes of Kalevala. Since we knew from previous research that we did during early design last year, there was a market potential for a couch co-op game on a Nintendo console. I spent weeks looking for potential forums that could allow me to find the market that I knew existed, until I stumbled upon a forum on NintendoAge.com and found a section dedicated to posting about your own work. Many other potential sites did not allow us to post for promotional purposes, which put a damper on the progress.
After that I found several other sites that had similar users that had an overlap with each others, like the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon (where once you notice something for the first time, you start seeing it everywhere). But there were still problems where we weren't allowed to post for promotional purposes, so the search continues for more potential audience members.
If you are reading this post you hopefully have some interest in the Runes of Kalevala, and if you do, great! Even if this game does not appeal to you specifically, please tell your friends and/or family about it to help us get the word out there so that it can reach more people. We like you either way.
